WHY GO?

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is possibly one of the most charismatic and historic circuits of the Formula 1 season. It is considered the home track of Ferrari and the atmosphere there is unlike anywhere else on the F1 calendar, largely thanks to the team's supporters knows as the tifosi whose passion for Ferrari knows no bounds.

1 // LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATION

Monza is a 30 minute drive or train journey north of Milan, a major European hub. Getting there, either by road, rail or air is relatively easy and the circuit is accessible via either car, coach or train from Milan or Bergamo.

The easiest way to get to the track is probably via train. You can use either the Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi stations to Monza station then take a shuttle bus to drop you at the Vedano gate (ingresso Vedano, closest to grandstand 25) where the end of the Parabolica joins the main straight and pit entrance.

On Sunday, there is a special train service running from Milano Centrale station going to the Biassono-Lesmo station at the other end of the track (enter via ingresso di Lesmo for grandstands 9, 10 or 11).

Train tickets can be booked online up to three months in advance.

Most people will probably choose to stay in Milan, although Bergamo can be a good base if you fly with low-cost carrier and /or prefer a bit of quiet, as it's nowhere near as busy as Milan.

Another option for accommodation is of course the campsite at the track, which provides great views of the first corner action if you book the magic spots early enough.
