The 2018 season features an expanded 19-race schedule with the inclusion of the Thailand later in the year. The first race taking place this weekend in Qatar is programmed a week earlier than usual and the season will also conclude a week later to allow space for the new race in Buriram.

Other changes from 2017 include Catalunya being scheduled a week later, which in turn pushes out the Dutch round in Assen. The following weekend in Germany will take place a fortnight later rather than after a single week. The Thailand Grand Prix slots in October before the Australasian triple hearder. The Hermann Tilke-designed circuit was used for the second winter test and has and has hosted the World Superbike Championship since 2015.
